Focus Five #29: 5 TV Shows Worth Trying This Weekend
As we’re coming up to a bank holiday weekend, we thought we’d do something a little different this week.
So, instead of sharing digital news, or COVID-19 related content, we’re sharing five of our favourite shows. If you find some time to unwind over the weekend, we highly recommend these!
1. Parks & Recreation
Amazon Prime
Ron Swanson is Neil’s spirit animal. Mel has the theme tune as her ringtone. It’s safe to say, we LOVE this show! It’s charming, funny, quirky and heartwarming and is guaranteed to raise a smile.
2. Gangs of London
Now TV
Pretty much the opposite of Parks & Recreation! This new Sky drama delves into the underbelly of London's modern-day criminal underworld. It’s brutal, violent, and complex, but makes for compulsive viewing. We went through it in less than a week!
3. After Life
Netflix
A British black comedy-drama series created, produced and directed, and starred in by Ricky Gervais. It’s a bit of an emotional rollercoaster this one!
4. The Mallorca Files
BBC iPlayer
This show may not win any awards, but it’s worth watching just for the beautiful scenery of Mallorca. Follow British policewoman, Miranda Blake, and German detective, Max Winter as they join forces to fight crime on the picturesque island of Mallorca. It’s mildly slapstick, harmless and amusing.
5. Tiger King
Netflix
Never before has the phrase ‘the truth is stranger than fiction’ been more true! This American true crime documentary follows the utterly bonkers life of zookeeper Joe Exotic and some other very interesting characters! You’ll watch it, you won’t believe it, but it’s true!
Never miss a post!
